BPKF supports research and educational activities in Nepal and also finances visits and exchanges between India and Nepal of scholars, poets, writers, journalists, artists, teachers, instructors, professors and other professional both in general field of education and in the field of agriculture, public health, science and technology and such other fields. The foundation has been also financing programmes and activities such as seminars, symposia, colloquia, workshops etc on subjects of common interest since its establishment. Issues regarding child development, women empowerment, conservation of cultural heritage and traditional crafts have been addressed. The foundation has been contributing towards publication of standard works in the field of Nepalese history and culture. The Foundation encourages the translation of standard works of Nepalese literature into Indian languages and vice-versa and arranging for their publication.

BPKF has supported the translation of the book ‘Karma Yoga’ into Nepali. The book is the series of lectures by Swami Vivekananda which was published in English in 1896. The book has been translated into Nepali by Mr. Shiva Dutta Dhakal and published by Ramakrishna Ashram Nepal.
