Ramayan Circuit Art Workshop

 ‘Ramayana Circuit Art Workshop’ has been organized on 12th and 13th of August 2016 at Janakpur. In pursuance of the sister-city relation between Ayodhya-Janakpur and Banaras-Kathamandu, the workshop saw participation from 5 Indian and 7 Nepalese artists.

The art work included Mithila and Madhubani Paintings and revolved on the theme of the Ramayana. Participants included eminent Nepalese artist Mrs. RaganiUpadhaya and renowned Indian artist Mr. Suresh Kumar Nair. At the conclusion of the workshop, the artists were honoured at the Independence Day celebrations by Ambassador of India to Nepal, Shri Ranjit Rae, at the Indian Embassy of 15th August. An exhibition of their art work was put up at the Embassy on the sidelines of the celebrations.

The art workshop attracted a large number of enthusiasts, art collectors, artists and art critic from the field of art. Interesting art work was produced indicating different interpretations of the Ramayana. The workshop established successfully the closeness of ties between the two nations, seen both through the medium of art and religion.
