On the sacred occasion of  Ashadha Purnima, Embassy of India Kathmandu organized a prayer ceremony which witnessed participation by monks and scholars from the Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana traditions from monasteries across Nepal. The sacred chants and prayers honoured Lord Buddha’s first sermon delivered at Sarnath. The deep spiritual and cultural ties between India and Nepal were also highlighted in the remarks made by venerable monks.
